MIPS AB is a Swedish company that develops brain protection technology for helmets. Its main product is a low-friction layer that sits inside a helmet and allows the head to slide slightly during an impact, which helps reduce rotational forces on the brain. The company licenses this technology to helmet manufacturers, who use it in products for cycling, skiing, motorcycling, equestrian and other sports and safety markets. MIPS is based in Sweden and works with helmet brands around the world.
