Cia de Ferro Ligas da Bahia, known as FERBASA, is a Brazilian producer of ferroalloys based in Bahia. The company mines chromium ore and manufactures ferrochromium, ferrosilicon and silicon metal, which are used by steelmakers and foundries to strengthen and refine steel and other metals. It also generates electricity for its own operations and supplies ferroalloys to industrial customers in Brazil and abroad, drawing on its own mineral reserves and processing plants in the region.
